It’s important to remember that you tend to get what you pay for. The Whetstone Cutlery Survivor Stainless Steel Knife is an inexpensive survivor knife. If you are looking for a high quality blade that you can depend on in a survival situation, you should plan on spending more than $6. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive knife to add to throw in your truck or tackle box as a backup, this is a good choice.

The wrap on the handle is a disappointing cheap imitation of paracord. The handle of the knife is somewhat small, making this knife difficult to comfortably hold for many adults. Basically if you are a knife collector, do not buy this because you will not want to show it off to your friends. If you want an inexpensive knife that can cut things reliably when sharpened, this is a great deal.

The Whetstone Cutlery Survivor Stainless Steel Knife Blade

On the plus side, this is a full tang blade. This is a key characteristic in a survivor knife. The 3.5″ blade is made of decent enough steel for the price. It arrives with an ok amount of sharpness, but may need to be sharpened frequently. There are cut-outs on the back of the blade that some may call serrations, but they do not really function for any purpose.

The Sheath

The sheath is not high quality, let’s be frank. It’s difficult to remove the knife from it, and it’s inconvenient to use. Again, you get what you pay for.
